Santa W-ho-ho-ho?
St. Nicholas or more commonly known as Santa Claus has become a household name. St. Nic and christmas time has become a synonym. He is the person or rather the “legend” who gives gifts to good and well behaved children and charcoal to those children in the naughty list. Even until this very day and age, this tradition of children making letters, leaving cookies and milk near the chimney and of course, being extra good during the christmas holidays has been prevalent although not as much as during the olden times. Santa Claus exists until this very day.
Proofs:
#1 Dr. Antinous Alcibiades states that the desire to explain and further understand Santa, most of us have gone to reason and thinking, straying and becoming apostate from the very essence of Santa.
#2 Santa Claus was once said to be Nicholas, because of his generosity and later became a saint himself. thus, giving him the opportunity to continue his being “santa claus” for many years even at this fast paced modern world.
#3 the images we portray in his likeness. Being the jolly, old man in red suite, with the long white bears, and the famous ho-ho-ho trademark. It is proof that santa claus does exist because of our portrayal because that is where we get his image from the real person himself. If not, then how do we know what santa Claus looks like?
With these proofs, it helps me in affirming my belief that Santa Claus does exist and is not as what many perceive him to be just a figment a child’s imagination. The biggest proof was that he once was a human like you and me but because of his generosity he became a saint, a legend but most of all a household name every christmas time.
Who’s Dr. Antinous Alcibiades?
Anyway, I agree that Santa Claus exists — he’s alive in every human being who has a heart to give more than what he can take: the underpaid janitor who cleans up the litter left by (gasp!) Ateneans, the unnoticed mom who constantly prepares “baon” for her kids, the mortified student who forces himself to go to class even if he knows he’ll be bored to death. It’s the spirit of giving in ordinary situations like these that makes Santa Claus present in all seasons, not just Christmas.
ahh..inspiring post!..i believe in santa too..he gives candies to crickets really!
Summary
Catsy states how she believes in Santa Claus, the embodiment of Christmas spirit. She then explains how Santa is still “alive” to this very day by presenting us with proofs. To end her work, Catsy then reaffirms her claim and says that the biggest proof of Santa Claus still existing is the fact that he became a Saint and a legend through his generosity.
Assessment
Catsy’s work was well thought of and organized. Although her proofs weren’t really anecdotes, they provided substantial and relevant information. Overall, Catsy’s work is nice and interesting.
catsy starts off by saying that santa still exists today. she then proceeds to enumerate “proofs” that santa really still does exist. she ends by saying that santa still exists and is more than children’s imagination. she also says that santa was human and became a saint because of his generosity.
there was definitely though put into writing the entry. perhaps even some research. catsy wrote in a very clear and organized manner, though it could use better transitions. the topic being discussed is interesting in the sense of wonder about the experiences one has had regarding the topic.
